When you tour Rambler Tempe, you’ll meet a leasing team member outside the building, take a guided tour through the community, then sit down to review current pricing, availability and floor plan options. As of June 2026, with construction on-time, Rambler now offers standard building tour, no hard hat needed!
If this is your first time touring a student apartment, the process can still feel a little intimidating. You may be trying to understand what you’ll see, what questions to ask and whether you’ll be expected to make a leasing decision that day.
At Rambler, our leasing team has helped hundreds of ASU students and first-time renters navigate the apartment search process with confidence. During your tour, our team will show you the building, answer your questions and help you compare floor plans based on your budget, roommate preferences and lifestyle.
In this article, we’ll walk you through the full Rambler Tempe tour experience, including how to prepare, where to meet the leasing team, what you’ll see inside the building and what happens after you find a floor plan you like.

Scheduling Your Tour
The first step is to schedule your tour on our Book a Tour page.
Rambler Tempe offers tours throughout the week. When scheduling, choose a time that works well for you and, if applicable, your future roommates or guarantor.
If you have potential roommates in mind, we recommend coordinating a time when everyone can attend. That way, you can ask questions together, compare preferences and make sure everyone is aligned before moving forward.
Most tours take about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how familiar you are with the leasing process and how many questions you have.
How to Prepare Before Your Tour
Before your scheduled tour, reflect on the priorities you have for your apartment. Consider factors such as the number of desired roommates, preferred views and any specific requirements you may have. Having a clear idea of your preferences will streamline and personalize your tour experience.
Here’s a checklist to think through before your tour:
- Price range
- Preferred floor plan style (studio, 4×4, 3×3, etc.)
- Desired amenities
- Window preferences
- Bathroom specifications
- Pet accommodations
- Parking options
Prepare a set of questions for the leasing staff, as committing to a year-long lease is a significant decision.
If you have roommates in mind, you should all discuss your priorities together as well! That way you’re all on the same page while you’re on your tour, and it’ll make the selection process that much easier.

Arriving for Your Tour
When you arrive for your scheduled tour, you’ll meet a Rambler Leasing and Marketing Associate, or LMA, outside the building before heading inside.
From there, your LMA will guide you through the tour, show you the community and answer any questions you have along the way. Unlike a construction or hard-hat tour, this is a standard building tour. You do not need any special gear or preparation before arriving.
During your visit, you’ll get a better feel for the building layout, amenities, finishes and overall Rambler Tempe experience. As a bonus, enjoy a complimentary handcrafted coffee or matcha from our in-house coffee bar, Daydreamer. If you sign a lease at Rambler Tempe, you’ll receive free coffee and matcha from Daydreamer until move-in! Once the building opens, Daydreamer will be open in the lobby for purchase.

Touring the Rambler Tempe Building
During your tour, your LMA will walk you through the building and show you the spaces designed for Rambler residents.
Depending on availability and the tour route, you may see areas such as:
- Lobby and resident entry areas
- Study spaces
- Amenity areas
- Fitness and wellness spaces
- Social spaces
- Outdoor or pool areas
- Model or representative apartment spaces, if available
As you walk through the building, pay attention to how the community feels in person. This is your chance to picture your daily routine, from where you might study, to how you’ll use the amenities, to how close you’ll be to campus and nearby Tempe spots.
This is also a great time to ask questions about building access, amenity hours, maintenance, resident events, roommate matching, parking and anything else that will impact your day-to-day life.
Looking at Floor Plan Options
Next you’ll explore floor plan renderings. Share any preferences you have for floor plans and our staff will assist you in identifying the unit that aligns best with your needs. This is when the list you made earlier of your apartment priorities and preferences will come in handy!

Going Over Pricing and Availability
Once you’ve narrowed down the floor plans you’re interested in, your LMA will review current pricing and availability with you.
Pricing can vary depending on floor plan type, bedroom selection, availability, lease term and other factors. Because rates and availability can change, your tour is the best time to get the most up-to-date information.
Guarantor Information
The application will also ask about your guarantor’s information.
If you’re unfamiliar with the term, a guarantor is essentially someone who qualifies to co-sign a lease, like a parent or guardian. Given that most students may not qualify to sign a lease independently, the guarantor assumes the responsibility of the rental rate on your behalf.
Once you’ve finished your part of the application, your guarantor will receive an email to complete another brief section.
Begin Your Application
Once you’ve settled on the ideal floor plan for you and your roommates, you’ll kick off the application process.
Ensure you have your driver’s license or government ID on hand. The application typically takes about 10 minutes to fill out.
For international students, we recommend completing your application inside Rambler House to address any questions or concerns that may arise during the process.

Signing Your Lease
After you finish the application, you’re ready to sign your lease. Take the time to read through your lease thoroughly and ask any questions as they arise. Signing a lease is a big commitment, so it’s crucial to understand the terms fully. After signing your lease, you officially become a future Rambler Tempe resident! Congratulations!
